About the products:

 

  • Are Cocoa40 Chocolates made in house?
    • Yes! Everything sold at Cocoa40 in store and online is made in house, from scratch without any preservatives or artificial flavours. 
  • What chocolate brands do you use?
    • We use premium couverture chocolates sourced from all over the world. Our single-origin bars and bonbons are from Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Venezuela and Madagascar. 
  • Are your chocolates gluten-free?
    • Yes! Our chocolate bonbon collection is completely gluten-free. The cookie bases in the dessert inspired chocolate bonbons is made with a gluten-free rice flour blend we use in house to make our gluten-free cookies. 
  • Do you offer dairy-free or vegan options?
    • Yes! We have several dairy-free and vegan options available in chocolates, bonbons, confections, cookies and gelato!

 

 

Gelato:

 

  • Is your gelato made in house?
    • Yes! Our gelato is made on-site, from scratch using Ontario dairy, produce (when available and in season) and from local farms whenever possible. Some customer favourites are not always available due to seasonal availability. Please check our Instagram and Facebook pages every Wednesday morning (April-November) to see the weekly menu. 
  • What makes gelato different from ice cream?
    • Gelato has 8-10% fat structure and less air added to it during the production process, giving it a might lighter and creamier texture. It's also served at -8 degrees Celsius meaning the shelf life of fresh scooped gelato is only a few days, compared to ice cream which can last for up to 6 months. 
  • How often do your gelato flavours change?
    • Our weekly offering change every Wednesday depending on which fruits are in season as we like to highlight the fresh Ontario produce as it becomes available. 

 

 

Orders & Shipping:

 

  • Do you ship chocolates across Canada?
    • Yes! We ship across Canada with Purolator and FedEx. For Same-Day Local Delivery within the GTA, please choose Trexity at the checkout. 
  • How long do chocolates stay fresh?
    • Our chocolate bonbons are best consumed within 1 month of purchase. Our chocolate bars and confections are best consumed within 3-12 months of purchase, depending on the product. Please consume the chocolate bars and confectionery by the month/year sticker on the back of the package. 
  • Can I place a custom order?
    • Yes! We love to do custom orders whether it's for a small intimate wedding or large corporate order. Please send us an email or use the form below to share your vision with us. 

 

 

Catering & Events:

 

  • Do you offer gelato cart catering?
    • Yes! We currently service the GTA with our gelato cart. Bookings can be made online through our booking form or by email at info@cocoa40.com. Please include the requested date, guest count, allergies and timeframe for your 2 hour service in your inquiry. 
  • Do you provide corporate gifts or event favours?
    • Yes! We can make custom favours for tradeshows, open houses, staff gifts or customer appreciation promotions or customize a chocolate gift box with branded hang tags, sleeves or gift wrap. To request a quote, please include the number of units, allergies and expected delivery date in your inquiry to info@cocoa40.com or simply use the form below. 
  • Can Cocoa40 create custom chocolate sculptures?
    • Yes, absolutely! Sculptures can be customized and branded for a specific event, or promotion. Each sculpture is bespoke and 100% edible, making it a unique centerpiece or dessert feature.

Store Visit:

 

  • Where is Cocoa40 Located?
    • Cocoa40 is located at 184 Main Street South, Newmarket, Ontario. We're right next door to the iconic clocktower (now, the PostMark Hotel) at the corner of Main Street & Park Avenue.
  • What are your store hours?
    • We are open Wednesday - Sunday, 11am to 6pm during the Spring, Fall and Winter. Our Summer hours are extended and offer service until 9pm. 
  • Do you offer Gift Boxes?
    • Yes! You can choose your own flavours in the Build-A-Box option or choose a curated selection made for you by our team. Please include any allergy restrictions we need to be aware.
